- Order a new insurance certificate in good time. The certificate is valid for 30 days and is sent directly to your vehicle licensing office. The required vehicle details can be obtained from the vehicle registration certificate or, in the case of new cars, from the inspection report (Form 13.20 A).
- Check that Baloise is entered as your insurer in Section 9 of your new vehicle registration certificate. If this is not the case, you must take your vehicle registration certificate to your cantonal licensing office so that the document can be amended.
Note: Different fees may apply for this change, depending on the particular vehicle licensing office.
If you purchase the car from a garage, these matters are often handled by your dealer or garage owner, but you should always check your vehicle registration certificate to ensure that the new car is entered correctly and that your current insurance company is entered in Section 9.
